Play In My Sandbox - Just Leave The Cat Outside!
Welcome to my playground! As a kid one of my favorite places to play was in the sandbox with my little green army men. Hours were spent devising battle scenes and blowing up the enemy. Those are good memories from a time far in the past… but… I also have bad memories from childhood of playing in my sandbox and finding cat turds buried just beneath the surface. I don’t like cats! Cats are the most insidious, evil animal ever known to man. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that the word “Serpent” used in the Bible can be translated to “cat”. Cats are lazy, traitorous (what other animal would play with you one moment and shred your hand the next?), arrogant, smelly (don’t get downwind of a gaseous cat!), and the list goes on and on… “So many cats, so few recipes.”
I don’t think there is such a thing as evolution (Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God… Intelligent design is the only thing that makes sense) but just for the sake of this story lets assume there is… I think that the cat family took a terrible turn for the worse somewhere in the process… probably when the cat and the badger started forking. All you cat lovers can’t deny these truths! Any domesticated animal that can lick its own butt can’t be taken seriously. (I’m not a big fan of dogs either, but that’s a different story - and they are not demonic by nature.) Pet turtles don’t lick themselves! Not too sure about parakeets.
What’s all this cat-mongering got to do with the Web? Glad you asked! Nothing, really. I just like picking on cats and cat lovers. The point is this: If you want to hang around here you better be nice! This is my sandbox and only nice people are allowed to play in it.
If you are so inclined (and left your cat outside), feel free to browse around the site and see what you can find. It’s going to be a little like a Where’s Waldo puzzle. A little of this and parts of that and pieces of the other. Most will center around the World Wide Web but some will head down rabbit trails and into Wonderland.
You can read the About page to find out a little about me. As you may soon find out, I ask more questions than I have answers. For instance, I’ve been trying to figure out PHP ever since vesion 3.0 came out but I just can’t get my mind wrapped around the programming concept. Oh, I can do some php & mysql programming and come up with working scripts but I’m always amazed at the abilities of those who can pound the keys and in the course of two pots of coffee produce some of these wonderful pieces of software. If you are one of these people I tip my hat to you!!!
